Mango

Mango is one of the leading fashion brands in the world. It was founded in 1984 in Barcelona and has since opened stores in more than 100 countries around the world. The Spanish brand employs over 6000 people.

Their first clothing store was started by two determined Turkish brothers: Isak and Nahman Andiclaunched. The brothers had immigrated to Spain from Turkey. Their first wholesale store was opened in 1985 in Valencia, and this started their national development. The fashion brand reached its next milestone in 1997 when they opened their wholesale store in Paris, France. With this store, the fashion brand was quickly propelled to become the second biggest textile exporter in Spain. This success prompted them to open a new location in Central Oxford street in London.

Presently, Istanbul in Turkey has the highest number of Mango stores. Spain still forms the biggest market for their products. The brand now has 150 stores in the UK, and it aims at opening 350 more stores in the country. About 65% of the company’s stores are franchises.

As mentioned earlier, the Mango brand was started by Isak and Nahman Andiclaunched. With this company, the Turkish family has grown to become one of the wealthiest households in Spain. Isak Andic is known to be media shy, and that is why very little is known about him. He initially started by selling hand-embroidered T-shirts around Barcelona and had opened several shops between 1972 and 1984.

In 1984, he came together with his brother, Nahman, to consolidate all his textile activities under the fashion brand. Andic has three children but is separated from his wife. Two of his children work for the fashion brand. Jonathan, one of the children, is set to take control of the entire company after his father. Isak Andic is the largest shareholder in the company.

The fashion brand launched a clothing line for men in 2008. It was originally known as H.E. They changed the name to Mango Man in 2014 and have since been engaging in an aggressive marketing campaign for the clothing line. One of the most notable promoters of the clothing line is Zinedine Zidane, the French professional football coach and former player.

Mango is a famous fashion brand that was created in Spain. The company has been in existence for close to 40 years. Presently, they have more than 2000 stores in over 100 countries, and that puts the brand in the list of the biggest fashion companies in the world. A whopping 65% of their stores are franchises. The family that founded this brand is still residing in Spain, and it is now one of the wealthiest families in the country.
